Success Symposium: Outline of Events

The two days are split into four workshop sessions. Each features ARROJO experts, guest speakers, and a central theme. There are also two special events, one on the evening of the 6th, one on the evening of the 7th.

Session 1. Productivity: "Energy and persistence conquer all things." -- Benjamin Franklin. Karen Gordon examines the balancing act of keeping employees happy and loyal, while ensuring they are always at the top of their game, keeping your business strong. Our conclusion gives you a game plan to empower your staff to take your business to the next level.

Session 2. Making Profit: "Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere." -- Albert Einstein. Jerry Gordon joins us to present innovative, proven examples of how to maximize profit, without increasing salon space or number of employees. Central to the theme is the art of 'double-shifting.' Pioneered by Jerry, this is how to gain the highest yield from each chair.

Session 3. Education & Training: "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." -- Malcolm X. Nick Arrojo and special guests (TBC) explain how to integrate an effective training program into your salon. Using ARROJO's apprentice-training program as template, you will learn to turn training your team into a virtuous cycle of shared knowledge, and shared success.

Session 4. Business Plan 2013: "It is not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The question is, 'What are we busy about'?" -- Henry David Thoreau. Guest speakers (TBC) join Nick Arrojo and his management team to present a tangible 2013 business plan, usable in any salon with five to fifty stylists. The plan includes Nick's vital signs of success, leading and inspiring, improving client returns and new to salon percentages, increasing retail profits, gaining competitive advantage -- and turning all of the above into a happy and prosperous, record-breaking 2013.


Special Events

On the evening of Sunday, January 6th there is a cocktail party and creative presentation, held at the Goldwell Academy, Santa Monica (within walking distance to the hotel). Led by the ARROJO Artistic Team, and powered by a premiere of Nectaya, Goldwell's new ammonia-free color line (not available till spring 2013), this is a rarified closeup look at trailblazing trends and techniques from a world-class lineup of hairdressing pioneers.

On the evening of Monday, January 7th join us at the hotel terrace bar to celebrate Nick Arrojo's Birthday! We want to make mingling and sharing thoughts and ideas with your peers a key part of the event, and Nick's birthday celebration presents a great opportunity to spend time with leading lights in the industry. Expect a big party!
