More About ARROJO Cosmetology
With connection to Nick Arrojo and his world-renowned team of stylists; unique opportunities like starring on stage at international beauty shows and hairstyling at New York Fashion Week (click here and here for more info); the nations most advanced curriculum; past students excelling in all elements the industry; and a boutique, state-of-the-art campus in New York City's epicenter of fashion, trend, and style ARROJO Cosmetology is setting new, higher standards of beauty school education.
The curriculum is taught using traditional and non-traditional teaching methods, with lots of activity-based learning. Classes are carefully thought out to include elements that engage each of the four learner types -- audio, visual, linear, kinesthetic -- and feature reading, listening, role-playing, practical, discovering, and sharing. It means all students get an education that connects with their abilities as a learner.
The course covers all New York State Board requirements, with curriculum highlights including the nine ARROJO haircuts all students must learn. This is a specific system of cutting developed and practiced by ARROJO, with all of the cuts -- classic one-length bob with bangs, layered bob, graduated bob; classic graduation, rounded graduation, tight graduation; classic square layer, classic long layer, and classic round layer -- exploring geometric yet organic shapes.
These techniques give hairdressers the ability to improve all their cuts from the most simple to the most dynamic. This is the foundation and definition of the ARROJO approach to modern and creative, precision-based hairstyling. It's what our salon stylists must master. It's what we preach to fellow hairdressers when teaching at international hair and beauty shows. It's one of the key things we teach at our advanced education seminars. And it's what our students learn as they work to master their new craft. It's a cutting system to match our own exacting standards of excellence and integrity.
As the school adjoins ARROJO studio, a portion of the students' time is also dedicated to guest lectures and demos from Nick Arrojo and fellow master stylists from this multi-award-winning, globally revered salon. The goal is to connect each student to the insights, experience and expertise of a top-class team and provide a platform for success whether the student wants to go forward into the salon, into education, or into editorial and fashion-related work.
The full-time program is a 7-month curriculum, which means enrolling students will be fully licensed and ready to start a career at the top before the end of the year. The part-time program is 12-month curriculum, with classes Monday-Friday from 5:30 pm till 9:30 pm. It is the perfect option for anyone who wants to continue in full or part time employment as they study for a career in cosmetology.
