ARROJO inspiration, 25-26 October 2009, at ARROJO academy NYC

"ARROJO Inspiration is built around the idea that we should share our latest techniques and inspirations and help all hairdressers find the freedom to create. Coming up with new trends and practices keeps us inspired and on the cutting edge; and it means we always have fresh ideas to offer our clients. Recently, we've put forward new ideas for creating asymmetry, disconnection, undercutting, the new shag, short to long cuts, and many more; and these are exactly the techniques that we demo, and you practice, in this seminar. But it's not a class just for editorial or avant-garde. In alignment with our philosophy, all the techniques are presented in a way that makes them the perfect fit for trend-conscious, salon-floor clients, too." - Nick Arrojo

$700

Up Close with Nick, 8-9 November 2009, at ARROJO academy NYC

"I see the Up Close with Nick seminar as a chance for myself to exchange, practice, and discuss business building ideas and creative cutting techniques with fellow hairdressers. On the first day, I present advanced scissor and razor cutting demos that feature techniques developed and practiced in my studio. Then, in the afternoon, you have the chance to practice these techniques in a mannequin workshop that I supervise myself. Day one ends with a team dinner, so we can gather round, review what we've done, share more thoughts and ideas, have fun, relax, and prepare for day two. On day two, I switch gears and talk about how I run my business and the things I do to ensure continued success. The November seminar is extra special as Jerry and Karen Gordon have accepted an invitation to facilitate the class with me. Their salon, J. Gordon Designs, Chicago, has received national and internati onal acclaim for the quality and innovation of its hairstyling, and its business practices." - Nick Arrojo

$900

Razor Advanced, 10-12 January 2010, at ARROJO academy NYC

"The success of the Razor Fundamentals seminar led many stylists to talk to me about learning more about razor-cutting. This became my inspiration for Razor Advanced. For those that already have experience of the razor, this three-day seminar focuses on ultra-modern, trendsetting, and sophisticated razor techniques that allow you to unlock true creative potential. All these techniques have been developed, and are now practiced, at ARROJO studio and include: texturizing, creating swinging bangs, panel cutting, forming geometric and rounded shapes, making a weightless line with swing and movement, shaping rounded bangs, undercutting through the back sections, and how to use a razor when cutting close to the root. Each technique is highlighted in demos before you execute them in supervised model and mannequi n workshops. Razor Advanced is designed to give increased flexibility, creative freedom, and boosted confidence. It's a terrific seminar to improve and advance your razor-cutting skill-set." - Nick Arrojo

Tuition:
$1025 (when you register before 15 December 2009)
$1075 (when you register after 15 December 2009)

Classic Cuts, 21-23 February 2010, at ARROJO academy NYC

"I believe successful hairdressing stems from mastery of the classic techniques - one - length lines, graduation, layering. Learn their proper application and all your cuts, no matter what shape or style, will improve. It's also true that strong classic cutting technique opens the door for you to become more confident in your skill-set, and more creative in your execution. Classic Cuts re-establishes the importance of proper craftsmanship and the value of precise technique. Each morning demo focuses on creating geometric yet organic shape and is followed by an afternoon workshop where you practice these skills as we guide and facilitate. This master-the-basics, scissors-only class is a great insight to our central teaching philosophy, a certain way to improve your skill level, and provides the foundation to build your creative stock." - Nick Arrojo

Tuition:
$1025 (when you register before 15 December 2009)
$1075 (when you register after 15 December 2009)
