Drawn to themes of transition and passage of time, Debbie Miracolo is a New York based artist working with photography and digital media. Her latest work, The Change Agents, features portraits of the colorful staff members of New York hair salon, ARROJO studio. The portraits will be exhibited inside ARROJO studio's salon space, from November 17 till January 26. This is an invitation to attend the opening reception, hosted by Nick Arrojo. Date: Wednesday, 17 November 2010 Time: 8-10 pm	The Change Agents by Debbie Miracolo Known for photographing her subjects with poetic sensitivity and distinct composition, Debbie's latest project was conceived while getting her hair cut at ARROJO. "An appointment at my trendy New York hair salon feels like a theatrical experience. Forty colorful stylists and assistants might be on the floor on any given day, each deftly displaying their skills with a unique persona and funky charm. I relish watching the grand performance as much as getting pampered and beautified. Edgy, artsy fashion, hair, and body ornament percolate enviable coolness, while rows of mirrors multiply the effect," says Debbie, in explanation of her inspiration. Over a period of one year, Miracolo photographed staff members in their homes, capturing their beguiling individuality in their own surroundings.
