Get new looks, and insight and inspiration, at ARROJO cosmetology With Stage 1 of the school curriculum complete, students have moved into Stage 2, which covers the theories and practices of modern hair color. It's led to all sorts of fun activities. There have been workshops with color swatches to find the hues that can be created for each person; there have been activities involving colored scarves to find what colors will compliment or contrast varying skin tones and eye colors; and there have been projects to learn how to create multi-dimensional shades from the three primary colors. If this wasn't enough, our conscientious, dedicated, and pro-active, student body volunteered their time and talent to style hair for the Safe Horizons Charity Valentines Makeover in New York City. The ARROJO cosmetology undergraduates have now completed their Stage 1 studies in cutting and styling all hair types and styles and are building the foundation of a world-class skill-set. As they work to perfect technique, students are taking regular clients for cut and/or styling services. All services are inexpensive, and overseen by a qualified ARROJO educator, but availability is limited. One project asked students to pick an industry figurehead and consider their contribution to the past, present, and future of hairdressing. One student chose noted pioneer, Vivienne Mackinder; as luck would have it, and, just a few days after the project's finish, Vivienne stopped by to interview Nick Arrojo for her own Web site. She delighted our students with a surprise - and inspirational - school visit that exemplified how we give our students unrivaled opportunities to learn from the leading lights in the business.
