Class 2 is just two weeks away from graduation. They are preparing for their State Board exam, and their future career, by re-enforcing the fundamental cutting, coloring, and styling techniques that are the benchmark of success. With guest demos by ARROJO master stylists also a part of their program, the students have, in addition, been busy learning the advanced techniques that will separate them from their peers. The importance of shape and texture, razor-cutting, corrective and creative color, and fashion-forward styling are all in sharp focus.
Class 3 is at Stage 2; a crucial part of the curriculum as it involves lots of time perfecting new skills on the student salon floor. And as Class 3 become increasingly skillful and confident in all areas of cosmetology, we're helping them push the creative envelope. One recent project asked students to take an image and use it as inspiration for their own and editorial collection. The idea is to stretch their skills, see their own creative vision, and enable each student to make something classic with a twist.
Class 4 have only been in school six weeks, yet they have already taken models for three classic cuts: one length line, bob and long layers... Imagine what they can do in another 6 weeks! And from a Class 4 student, here's an early impressions of the program:
"At first, you're just overwhelmed by the level of commitment of the staff - from the first meeting about the admissions process, to the curriculum and school itself, to the educators, and as if all of that wasn't enough - Nick comes to orientation to personally welcome us and lets us use his products on our mannequins no less! When you're in such a professional atmosphere with people who are just as interested in teaching you the business as you are about learning it, its hard not to just be happy to be there - its contagious.
We had our first project due this past week - to design our own dream salon - and by the end of the presentations, I was overcome. Almost every business plan had an element of giving back to the community or creating an environment for people to come and feel comfortable and be apart of something. ARROJO gave us all that feeling the first day we walked in and now we want to share it." - Rachael
In other news, we're proud to report ARROJO cosmetology has now enrolled more than 50 students to our program. For a boutique school that only takes small class sizes and just opened in January, we're absolutely thrilled! The next two class start dates are November 16th '09 & January 25 '10. Enroll for either date and you can start your new career by summer of 2010!
